Hedge trimming

Neat, well-shaped hedges across Tewkesbury and Gloucestershire

A hedge that has crept too tall or too wide can take over the front of a house in a season. James trims, shapes and reins yours back in, then clears away every bit of the cuttings so all you notice is the tidy result.

What James can help with

The front hedge has lost its shape

A straggly hedge along the front is the first thing visitors and passers-by see, and it makes the whole house look unkempt. A proper trim brings back the clean lines and gives the place a far sharper first impression from the pavement.

Boundary hedges are crowding the path or drive

When a hedge starts leaning into the path, the drive or a neighbour's side, getting past it becomes a daily nuisance. James cuts it back to sensible boundaries so the way through is clear and the line stays fair on both sides.

It has grown too big to manage from a ladder

Once a hedge climbs past comfortable reach, trimming it yourself turns into an awkward, risky job that swallows a weekend. Handing it over means it gets done safely, evenly and in a fraction of the time, with nothing left for you to clear.

How it works

From first message to a tidy finish

1

Get in touch

Give James a call, send a text or fill in the free quote form. Tell him roughly how many hedges there are, how high they have got and what is bothering you about them.

2

A look and a free quote

James comes to see the hedges in person, since photos rarely show the full size of a job. He talks through the shape and height you want, then gives you a clear, no-obligation quote.

3

The trim

On the day he works methodically along each hedge, keeping the lines straight and the height even, and taking care around fences, paths and anything growing nearby.

4

Cleared and checked

Every cutting is raked up and taken away, and James walks the line with you to make sure the finish is exactly how you wanted it before he leaves.

Hedge Trimming questions, answered

When is the best time of year to trim a hedge?

It depends on the type of hedge, but most established hedges do well with a tidy in late spring or summer once the main growth has settled. James will tell you straight what suits yours, and if it is better to wait or to avoid disturbing nesting birds, he will say so.

Do you take the cuttings away?

Yes. The trimmings are raked up as he goes and taken away at the end, so the hedge is finished without branches left across the lawn or path.

How tall a hedge can you trim?

James handles most domestic hedges, including taller front and boundary hedges that have grown beyond easy reach from the ground. If yours is unusually high, mention it when you get in touch and he will let you know honestly whether it is one he can take on.

Which areas do you cover?

From Tewkesbury, James regularly covers Twyning, Bredon, Cheltenham, Upton, Bishops Cleeve, Evesham and nearby Gloucestershire villages. If your village sits just outside that list, ask and he will confirm.
